All are invited to bring their old, weathered flags to the Monuments and Ceremonies Commission’s annual Flag Day observance at 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 14 at the Veterans Memorial Circle in front of Town Hall.

Members of the VFW will accept the old and used flags for proper disposal at a later date. A brief flag ceremony will take place which includes lowering an old flag and raising a new one.

The Monuments & Ceremonies Commission urges all citizens to please take a look at their flags and think about putting up a new one if theirs is tattered and worn.

In the event of inclement weather, a representative of the VFW will be at Town Hall to receive old flags at the time of the ceremony.
