Barbara M. Jeanloz, 79, formerly of Norwalk, passed away on Saturday, April 23, at the Glastonbury Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late George A. Jeanloz.
Barbara Jeanloz\’s funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, April 30.
Born in Germantown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Mulford and Maxine (Bradley) Simons.
Barbara was an amazing mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for the family, reading novels, praying each morning for her children, lap swimming, and summer walks on Calf Pasture Beach.
She was a very active at Calvary Baptist Church in Darien, serving as a Sunday school teacher, special music soloist, and led the mission’s board. Barbara swam at the Norwalk YMCA almost every day for 40 years.
She was the mother of Daniel A. Jeanloz and his wife Kristian of Hope Valley, R.I.; Vonnie R. Leathead and husband Gordon of Doylestown, Pa.; Denise L. Novak and husband Sig of Bethlehem, Pa.; and Heidi A. Burton and husband Paul of Hebron. Barbara is also survived by eight grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 30, in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, R.I. Visiting hours are prior to service, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Word of Life, Schroon Lake, N.Y., will be appreciated.
