Vera M. Crawford, 92, a resident of North Andover, Massachusetts, and formerly Dorset, Vermont, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 29 at The Meadows at Edgewood in North Andover.

Vera Crawford, 92, passed away March 29. Her funeral will be on May 5.

Born in New York City on Oct. 12, 1930, Vera was the daughter of the late Robert and Veronica Martin of Greenwich.

Vera graduated from Rosemary Hall in Greenwich and Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. She worked in New York City for a publishing company before marrying Warren Wentworth Crawford in 1956. Together, they raised their family in Darien.

Vera was active with the church, gardening, volunteering in the community and cherished her time with her family.

Vera is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Warren Crawford; and her sisters, Marie Louise Knopp and Leslie Martin. She is survived by her children: Thomas Crawford of S. Hamilton, Robin Youngman of Andover, their spouses Lisa Crawford and Thomas Youngman, four grandchildren; Malcolm and Cate Crawford and Heather and Andrew Youngman as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., May 5 at Christ Church in Andover, Massachusetts. Her remains will be laid to rest next to Warren in Maple Hill Cemetery, Dorset, Vermont, during a private family ceremony.

Vera will be remembered for her kindness, grace and love for her family and friends. Contributions in Vera’s memory may be made to Robert Todd Lincoln’s Hildene or The Lewy Bodies Dimentia Association.
