Sacred Heart University’s Jack Welch College of Business (WCOB) is establishing a new bachelor’s degree in hospitality, resort and tourism management. This program will provide students a solid business core and entryway into this $3.5 trillion industry.”

The hospitality and tourism industry is the second largest employer in the U.S. after the federal government and includes a number of interrelated businesses such as airlines, clubs and resorts, cruise lines, event planning, lodging, restaurants, theme parks and travel agents, among others.

Sacred Heart University to Offer Master of Public Administration Program

Sacred Heart University in Fairfield will launch a new master of public administration (MPA) program in fall 2018 through its Department of Government, Politics and Global Studies. “The master of public administration is a professional degree that will prepare individuals for careers in the public sector, government agencies, human service organizations and nonprofits,” said Lesley A. DeNardis, director of the program. _________

Students may concentrate in either nonprofit management or emergency management, both of which project significant job growth. A third option allows student to pursue a self-designed concentration tailored to their professional needs and interests. Courses will provide students with the professional and technical skills necessary for 21st-century leadership roles in governance.

Six from Darien Graduate from Sacred Heart University

Six Darien graduates  were among more than 2,000 Sacred Heart University students receiving diplomas and words of advice and motivation this past weekend from religious leaders, scholars and classmates. At the ceremony on Sunday, former undergraduate students, Darienites Andres Morales-Guzman, Ahmed Mustafa and Monica Sullivan received their diplomas from Sacred Heart, located in Fairfield. Former graduate students Kelly Keating, Scott Plank and Allison Wetterauw, all from Darien, received their diplomas from the university on Saturday. President John J. Petillo addressed undergraduate students on Sunday. “Today is indeed your day.
