A new show at the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC), “In the City,” will be on view this Sunday, May 23 until June 20, 2021. This themed exhibition features 70 pieces of artwork by area artists in all media. Artists interested in becoming an exhibiting member of Rowayton Arts Center may bring in artwork for consideration to the RAC gallery from 12 noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, May 13. The RAC will review the artwork on May 14, and artists will be selected that day, with notifications sent to accepted artists the following week. Artists should plan on picking up their artwork on Friday, May 14 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. or Saturday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The rest will be held online via Zoom: oil painting, watercolor, figure drawing, portraiture, pastels and more. “Creative Explorations for 6- to 9-Year-Olds” will meet in the RAC studio on Wednesday afternoons beginning May 19 and “Mixed Media for 8- to 12-Year-Olds” will meet there on Thursdays afternoons beginning June 3. The classes run from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. A new medium will be introduced each week, giving students the ability to experiment with different rendering methods. The fee for the workshop is $135.
