The signature NAMI Basics course — for parents and other caregivers of children and adolescents under 17 who live with mental health challenges — is starting April 24. NAMI Basics is a cost-free, six-session education program designed to teach participants how best to support their children at home, at school, and when getting medical care. Developed by NAMI, the course focuses on evidence-based practices most likely to produce positive outcomes as validated through clinical research. The course will be taught by trained teachers from the local community who have lived experience.
