This week you can expect a slower Interstate 95, with lane closures at certain areas in and near Darien, and on Tuesday on the Merritt Parkway in New Canaan, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation. The bridge maintenance and inspection work won’t take place during the heaviest traffic of rush hour, or in the early evening, but the daytime work will stretch from Greenwich to Darien, and the nighttime work will be from Greenwich through to Stratford, with multiple bridges getting work done for the entire month. On I-95 in Darien, Stamford and Greenwich, some lanes in both directions will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, June 4 to 7. At night, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through July 3, Mondays through Thursdays, on I-95 from Greenwich all the way to Stratford and in both directions, various bridges will get maintenance work, and lanes will be closed, slowing traffic, according to a separate announcement by the department. (The department did not announce any nighttime work on the Merritt Parkway overnight, at least not this week.)

One nighttime bridge project on the highway will be in Norwalk between Exit 16 and 17, according to a third announcement from the department.
