How Darien High Enrollment Compares to Rest of FCIAC: Darienite Almanac

Editor’s note: This is the first installment in an irregular feature called “Darienite Almanac” showing facts and figures about Darien that show something about the town. Darien High School sports teams regularly do well in producing championship teams winning Fairfield County and even state championships. Here’s a table put together by Jay Egan Athletics Director for New Canaan High School, showing recent enrollment numbers for each high school in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference. Out of 17 schools now in the conference, Darien is the 13th in terms of enrollment, meaning it has a much smaller student population to draw athletic talent from than most schools in the conference. Wilton and New Canaan are the only smaller public schools, followed by two private schools: St.
