Professional Organizer Seana Turner of The Seana Method has some answers. Seana will offer strategies for the many facets of the downsizing process, including:

Where and how to begin decluttering
How to make decisions about what to keep and what to shed
How to go about moving items out of your space (e.g. donating, selling, trashing, redistributing to family members, etc.)
How to set a timeline for selling and moving

Seana’s tips will be helpful regardless of where you are in the process.

The DCA Women’s Luncheons will feature “Don’t Just Downsize, Modernize!” with Carey Karlan of the award-winning interior design firm Last Detail at their next luncheon on Tuesday, March 1 at 12:15 p.m. at the Darien Community Association (DCA). Transitions in decorating style can be challenging, whether you are moving or simply trying to achieve a more updated look in your own home. Join this luncheon as Carey Karlan discusses what to keep, what to toss, what to repurpose and how to achieve a more modern look without starting over. This event is $20 per person, or $15 for DCA members, and includes lunch and dessert, provided by Carolyn’s Absolutely Fabulous Events.
