Nancy Eagan Grant of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on Nov. 7 at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers. She was 79 years old. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, John C. “Jack” Grant, III; four children JohnT. Grant, Meg McColgan, Carolyn Ganley, Kathy Wolfenden; two sons in law, Danny Weiss and Mike McColgan; five grandchildren, TJ, Ellie, Gail, Grant, Deanna; and her cousin Loretta Boll.

Robert Birney Crane of Darien crossed the bar on Wednesday Nov. 30. 

Born to Albert Eli Crane and Florence Luray Overton Crane on Feb. 8, 1920 in Plainfield, N.J., Bob thoroughly enjoyed life for over 96 years. He moved to Darien with his family at the age of 8. Bob attended Miss Thomas’s School and Saint Luke’s Academy before graduating from the Darien High School in 1936.

Eugene F. “Gene” Kelly, 90, of Tampa, a retired financial executive and PepsiCo vice president, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27. He raised his family partly in Darien and played the ukulele for entertainment. Gene Kelly was born and raised in Jersey City, N.J., and was the son of Dr. James E. and Elizabeth E. Kelly. He raised his family in Mountainside, N.J., and Darien before moving to Tampa 32 years ago with his wife.

Michael Vincent Principe, 70, of Darien passed away on Nov., 26, in his sleep. Born in New York City on Nov. 9, 1946, Michael was the son of the late Thomas and Carmela Principe. A resident of Darien for the past 24 years, Michael grew up in New York City’s Little Italy and forever took pride in his old neighborhood. He remained in New York for college, graduating from the School of Visual Arts.

John Callahan Moler passed away peacefully at home Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016. He was born June 8, 1926, to Rosemary and Harold Moler in Oklahoma City, Okla. He graduated from Classen High School in 1944 and served in the Pacific as a signalman 3rd class before graduating from Oklahoma University and marrying his high school sweetheart, Betty Jean Golson, in 1949. Ungemack, Fannie Petroccia, age 91, of Stony Creek passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 1, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Fannie was the beloved wife of Robert E. Ungemack for 67 years. She was the daughter of John and Lottie Petroccia, born in Old Brookville, Long Island on June 12, 1925, moving to Darien at age one where she and Robert raised their own family. A graduate of the Parsons School of Design in New York, Fannie became a landscape designer working first in her family’s business, The Gardener’s Center in Darien, and then partnering with her husband in Robert E. Ungemack Landscaping Associates.
