The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on a 3.81-mile section of Route 1 in Darien, Tuesday, Sept. 14, through Friday, Oct. 13, 2017. Work hours will be 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Thursday night, Sept. 14, through Friday morning, Oct. 6. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Wednesday night, Sept. 27 through Friday morning, Oct. 13.

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 1 from .10 mile north of Stamford own line to Norwalk town line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
