The Darien Monuments and Ceremonies Commission invites you to participate in the annual September 11th Memorial Observation Ceremony.
The Ceremony will begin at 8:25 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the town’s 9/11 Monument, located in the courtyard behind Middlesex Middle School on Hollow Tree Ridge Road.
School will be in session, so please park in the rear lot.
The ceremony is expected to last 35 minutes.
On the same day, “Our schools and students will take time to remember and acknowledge this anniversary through a variety of developmentally appropriate activities,” Schools Supeerintendent Alan Addley said in his Friday newsletter to parents and staff.
“The recent events at Apalachee High School and the 9/11 Memorial Service remind us of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing our loved ones,” he wrote. “It is also a time when we can honor Darien’s first responders who continue to bravely serve our community. Have a nice weekend.”
