Darien police announced these recent incidents and arrests:

—a 48-year-old Waterbury man was pulled over on the southbound-traffic side of Interstate 95 by a Darien police officer The officer saw the vehicle had a tinted front windshield and no front license plate. A check of the driver’s registration showed arrest warrants had been filed against him: one for violation of probation, another for failure to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford related to a 2017 arrest on charges of selling illegal drugs, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer or first responder. He was released on $40,000 bond and later appeared in court. His next court date is March 20.

— A 30-year-old Stamford woman turned herself in to police on Jan. 9 after a warrant had been issued charging her with second-degree failure to appear in court. She was released after paying 10% of a $5,000 bond ($50). She is scheduled to appear Jan. 23 in state Superior Court in Stamford. She had been charged in December 2022 with failure to reregister her car. The warrant had been issued in September 2023.

— A 48-year-old Hoyt Street man was charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to a domestic violence call at 8:51 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11. The victim told police that he or she got into a verbal argument with a third person, then tried to walk downstairs when the Hoyt Street man blocked her way, leading to a physical confrontation. The man was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in court the next day. In a news release, police said the charge was “obstructing free passage,” but the Connecticut Judicial Branch website called it disorderly conduct. The man is due back in state Superior Court in Stamford on April 2.
