Parents: Lottery Now Open for Fall Storytime for Children at Darien Library

This fall, Darien Library again is hosting its popular registered storytimes. Attendance at these events is determined through a lottery with a two-week sign up period between Monday, Sept. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 5.
Each child can participate in one registered program per session.

Parents/guardians will be notified by Friday, Oct. 10 regarding their child’s placement in a six-week class.

Choose One, Then Another One in Case the First Option Is Full

Options (parents or caregivers get a first choice and a second choice on the online registration form):

All Together Now (all ages) – Mondays, 9:30  to 10 a.m.
All Together Now (all ages) – Tuesdays, 9:30 to 10 a.m.
Side by Side (ages 2 & 3) – Mondays, 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Born to Read (walkers up to 24 months) – Tuesdays, 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Born to Read (walkers up to 24 months) – Thursdays, 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Giggles & Rhymes (pre-walking babies up to 18 months) – Tuesdays, 11:15 to 11:45 a.m.
Giggles & Rhymes (pre-walking babies up to 18 months) – Thursdays, 9:30 to 10 a.m.

Additional Information

• Registration is a lottery.

• The Fall 2025 Storytime session runs for six weeks, starting Monday, Oct. 13 and ending Friday, Nov. 21.

• Each child can participate in ONE registered class series per session.

• Register your child based on their age and ability to walk by Oct. 13. If registering more than one child, please fill out a separate form for each child.

• Please check your email’s spam folder between Oct. 7 and Oct. 10 to ensure you see our email about your child’s placement.

• Please note: The Library will be closed on Monday, Oct. 13 for Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Tuesday, Oct. 11 for Veterans Day. The Storytime classes scheduled on these dates will be canceled.
