Mary Delia, age 88, was well-cared-for by the staff at Autumn Lake Healthcare of Norwalk for four years where she loved playing bingo and card games.
Mary passed away Jan. 9, 2016. Born at her home in Darien on Sept. 19, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Bernardino and Josephine Petrucelli Alicandro. Mary was a graduate of Darien High School and lived in town for many years.
Mary was the sweetest, most wonderful and loving mother and friend to her daughter Susan Price. Survivors also include two sisters, Ida Henry and Lee Heitz (husband Arnie) and brother Richard Alicandro (wife Carole), sister-in-law Lee Alicandro, brother-in-law Joseph Delia, and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Terry Delia of Arizona, twin granddaughters Kimberly Schunk (husband Michael) and Dawn Renee, grandson Max Delia, great-grandchildren Alex, Krista, Regan and Jenna, whom she loved and cherished with all her heart.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank Delia Sr., son Frank Delia, and an infant son as well as siblings Lucia Anderson, Stella Santoro, Joseph, Daniel, Frederick and Laura Alicandro.
Mary created many wonderful moments for her family and friends that will live on in their cherished memories of fun times filled with great food, laughter and love.
A graveside service will be held at St. John’s Cemetery in Norwalk on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to your favorite charity in her memory.
