Mary Van Benschoten, 86, passed away on July 1.

Born to Thomas C. Bradley and Helen Hill Bradley on April 22, 1930. Mary Louise grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and graduated from Agnes Irwin School and Endicott College.

She married Harry Van Benschoten in 1951 and lived a wonderful life together, first in New York City and later in New Canaan. She volunteered in many areas including her churches, Visiting Nurses Board of New Canaan, school projects and as a volunteer at Stamford Hospital.

The clubs she loved were the Woodway Country Club in Darien and the Club at Pelican Bay in Naples, Fl. where she played all sports and bridge.

Mary Louise is survived by her wonderful husband of 65 years, Harry; her son, Thomas, of Danbury; and her daughters, Claire Leigh Rische of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Diana Joy Locke of Darien.

She loved her three in-law family members, Lenore, Philip, and Charles and her precious grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Ellis, and Stuart. Her many friends were also precious to her during her wonderful life as was her beloved New York Mets.

Burial will take place at a private family service in Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan. Contributions may be made to St. Marks Episcopal Church, Oenoke Ridge, New Canaan, CT 06840 or St. John Episcopal Church, 500 Park Shore Dr., Naples, FL 34103.
