Margaret Skelly, a resident of Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, for 20 years and a 45-year resident of Darien, passed away on Sept. 12. She was 95.
Margaret Skelly, 96, passed away Sept. 12. Her funeral will take place at 10:30 a.m., Monday.
Margaret Doyle Kansas Skelly, the daughter of Lyndon Doyle and Jack Kansas, was born on Nov. 6, 1926 in Banes, Cuba.
Peggy trained as a dancer and traveled around the country performing in shows headlined by stars like Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.
She married George Skelly in 1952 and had four children. She was a phenomenal woman with a great sense of humor. Her family admired and adored her.
She is survived by her son George Skelly III of Darien and his partner, Theresa Castro; her daughters: Lyndon Skelly-Hausler, married to Richard Hausler of Fairfax, Virginia; Kathleen Kansas Skelly of Boston; and Sharon Skelly-Theroux, married to Steven Theroux of Mansfield, Massachusetts. Peggy was blessed with six grandchildren: Laurel Hausler, James Hausler, Lee Anne Hausler, Kat Hausler, Millie Theroux and Katrice Theroux.
