An obituary from Edward Lawrence Funeral Home:
Laura Ehlers, a resident of Darien, passed away on Monday, Aug. 24, 2015 in Darien. She was born on August 31, 1964 in Miles City, Mont. She graduated from Billings West High School in 1981 and graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in business finance in 1985.
She is survived by her husband Gregory; her three sons, Ryan, Ethan and Quenten; her parents Robert and Roberta Ehli of Billings, Mont.; a brother Brian Ehli of Helena, Mont.; a sister Pam Scharen of Billings, Mont. and several nieces and nephews.
A hard worker and loving mother who always put others’ wants and needs in front of her own, Laura had to wake up at the crack of dawn to work but still managed to prepare wonderful meals for her sons and transport them to school every morning without fail.
She was radiant with a vibrant energy and sense of humor that touched the lives of many, not just in her community, but everywhere she traveled.
For close friends and family, the family will be receiving guests at their home on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. and a formal memorial service will be held at St Thomas Moore Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19.
