The Tuesday fire in Manhattan that halted train service from Grand Central not only disrupted Wednesday morning’s commute, but threatens to do so for days to come.
Commuters faced crowded trains arriving on a Saturday schedule, and sometimes, according to reports, not stopping at all at certain stations, even when scheduled. In Darien, a Planning & Zoning Commission meeting had to be cancelled when the commission couldn’t get a quorum — some members were stuck in Manhattan when the trains stopped running late Tuesday afternoon.
