If you’re driving on Interstate 95 late at night between Norwalk and Stratford (Exits 16 to 31) you may be facing several lane closures from Sunday night through early Friday morning.

Also, anyone driving this Saturday or Sunday morning in either direction on the Merritt Parkway in Greenwich can expect lane closures between Exits 27 (for Route 120A) and 31 (North Street).

The long stretch of I-95 will have various lane closures (on either the left or right lanes)  due to the state Department of Transportations ongoing bridge repair and maintenance work, ConnDOT announced on Friday.

Work is expected to start at 11 p.m. and end by 5 a.m., according to the announcement.

Daytime Project on Route 7

Separately, on U.S. Route 7 in Norwalk, between Exits 2 and 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, expect alternating left and right lane closures. The reason is the same — bridge maintenance or repair work, the department announced.

This Weekend in Greenwich

The Greenwich lane closures are needed for a tree-removal operation along the sides of the highway, the department announced on Wednesday, adding, “The project consists of cutting dead trees, high limbing and clearing signs.”

Work is expected to take place between 6 a.m. and 12 noon, both days. As always, plans may change, the announcement said. Drivers are asked to be careful.
