Kerry Kent Smith Gerrits was a beloved resident and member of the Darien community who sadly passed away on Nov. 26.
Born in 1977 and raised in Garden City, Long Island, Kerry attended college at the University of Delaware, and spent her career working in sales and finance, spending nearly a decade at dv01.
Kerry lived much of her life in Manhattan, but she also lived for several years in London where she met the love of her life, Tim, with whom she had three beautiful children: Alice Eileen, Lukas Bram, and Finn Harold. Tim and their children were Kerry’s greatest joy.
Kerry was passionate about fitness, world travel, reading, and style, and she would be just as comfortable visiting museums around the globe as she would be telling stories to local children.
Kerry loved many people, and she was loved by many in return, as her presence was truly captivating. She was always ready and eager to lend an ear and was a reliable shoulder for anyone needing support. Kerry will be remembered for her kindness, her ability to put others at ease, her gratitude, her strength, her proactive nature and her unwavering loyalty to her family and countless friends.
She lived by the motto “one team, one dream” and was the ultimate connector. She was a devoted wife and mother, and her family was the center of her universe.
In addition to her husband and children, Kerry is survived by her father, Cyril John Smith, brother, Kyle Bradford Smith, aunt, Maureen Anne Kent, mother-in-law, Elly Zoeteman, brother and sister-in-law, Roel and Marieke Gerrits, niece, Nina, and nephew, Sem. Kerry was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Eileen Lucille Kent Smith.
A funeral service will be held at Noroton Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024.
