Josephine Theresa Ostreicher, wife of John Karl Ostreicher, died on June 11 in Westport. She was 92.
The daughter of John Teplica and Mary (Mozley) Teplica, she was born Aug. 19, 1923 and was raised and spent most of her life in Darien.
She graduated from Darien High School and later completed course work at Katherine Gibbs in Norwalk before working as a secretary.
Mrs. Ostreicher married John Karl Ostreicher in 1947 and raised three sons in Darien. She also worked many years at Four Seasons Farm in Darien, owned by Mark and Jean Isselee.
She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, where in her later years she participated in the choir.
She is survived by her three sons, Kim and wife Hesun of Londonderry, N.H.; Jan and wife Patricia of Fairfield and Jay and wife Janet of Westport; grandchildren Tammy, Arica, Justen, Jongho, Jongwon, Jessie, Jason, Jennifer, Erin and Kate; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ostreicher was predeceased by her husband John Karl, and siblings Francis, Marion DeForest, Charles Teplica, William Teplica and Elizabeth Tyler.
A private memorial service will be held at the veterans cemetery in Middletown at a future date. Donations are gratefully appreciated in memorial to a charity of your choosing.
