Join us in the Louise Parker Berry Community Room at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 15 for an evening of classic rock with a concert celebrating the music of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, and Elo from some of the top muscians in New York City, Jeff Slate & Friends.

About the performers

Jeff Slate is a singer/songwriter from New York City. In the mid-90’s he released The Townshend Tapes, on which The Who’s Pete Townshend acted as Executive Producer, and opened for Sheryl Crow on her “Tuesday Night Music Club” tour. In 1997 he founded the band The Badge, who released four albums and countless singles, EPs and live “bootleg” sets, and went on to become darlings of the UK/European “mod” scene in the 2000’s. Birds of Paradox, his first solo album of original material, was released in 2012. It was followed in November 2013 by Imposters & Attractions. Slate is a regular contributor to Esquire, Rolling Stone, and many other outlets, writing about music and culture.

Earl Slick toured the world with David Bowie and appeared on many Bowie albums, from David Live! through The Next Day, and played on John Lennon’s last recording sessions. Steve Holley was a member of Paul McCartney & Wings from 1978-1981. Rick Mullen has toured the world with Don McLean and The Commander Cody Band. Charly Roth has played with a who’s who of rock legends, including Ozzy Osbourne, and currently serves as the Chief Music Supervisor on the Denis Leary show Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll. Jimmy “Mack” McElligott has performed and/or recorded with including Gene Cornish (Young Rascals), Carlos Alomar (Bowie, Lennon), Arno Hecht (Rolling Stones), Rob Stoner (Bob Dylan), and many others.
