A Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen overnight last week on Bittersweet Lane, and elsewhere in town, on a different night last week, vehicles were entered overnight, resulting in at least one theft, Darien police said. All the vehicles were unlocked.
Police gave this account of the incidents:
The Grand Cherokee was stolen overnight Saturday to Sunday, Aug. 9 to 10. The keys to the vehicle were “possibly inside” it, police said in a news release.
Two nights before the theft, on vehicles were entered on Mayflower, Plymouth and Shipway roads (this map shows where al three streets are located), vehicles were entered, thieves rummaged around inside them and some items were stolen. Police saw a video recording showing two suspects in the incidents. The video indicated the suspects were there at 4:30 a.m.
A Trek Mountain Bike was stolen that night from a driveway and later recovered nearby. Police did not say what else was stolen.
