From early morning on Wednesday, July 3 to late in the day on Friday, July 5, four vehicles were entered in town, three were stolen, including one from a supermarket parking lot, and two were found — one close by and the other in Bridgeport, police said.
SUV Entered: Early Morning, July 3 — Hope Drive
The owner of a 2016 Volvo XC90 told police that the SUV had been entered in the early morning by a suspect dressed in black. Police were called and spoke to the owner at about 1 p.m. on July 4.
The victim discovered that the vehicle had been entered and rifled through. Nothing was reported stolen. The police report didn’t say when the victim found out about the rifling or how the victim knew that the suspect was dressed all in black, but the description is consistent with video surveillance. Police also didn’t say whether or not the SUV had been locked, or whether anything had been stolen.
Stolen SUV: Late Afternoon, July 4 — Palmer’s Market
In one of the the parking lots of the supermarket at 264 Heights Road, a white 2024 Porsche Cayenne S Coupe was stolen. Officers arrived at the scene at about 4:43 p.m. and spoke to the victims.
Car Stolen: July 5 — Holly Lane
Police responded to a report of a stolen white Tesla sedan. It was later found abandoned a few houses down the street. When the vehicle was found, the owner discovered his wallet was missing. Police gave no further details.
Jeep Stolen: July 5 – Holly Lane
While police were investigating the previous report on Holly Lane, they discovered that a black Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from a driveway on the same street at 4:37 a.m. (Again, the early hour and exact time indicate the owner had video surveillance, but the police announcement didn’t say.) It was later found in Bridgeport in connection with the arrest of two suspects. Police did not give further details.
