The League of Women Voters of Darien will join with the 11 other Fairfield County Leagues to present a debate between incumbent Democrat Jim Himes and Republican John Shaban, candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives 4th Congressional District, on Sunday, Oct. 23.
The event, free and open to the public, will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at the Clune Performing Arts Center at Wilton High School, 395 Danbury Road (Route 7) in Wilton.
It will be possible to register to vote and get Absentee Ballot information prior to the event. Both candidates have accepted the invitation to this event. The Debate Facilitator is Jara Burnett of LWV Greenwich.
Stamford’s Kay Maxwell, a former president of the League of Women Voters of the United States and currently executive director of the Stamford-based World Affairs Forum, will moderate the debate.
Other co-sponsors of this event are Leagues of Women Voters of the Bridgeport Area, Fairfield, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Redding, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton (hosting the event).
