The Magical Gardens of Bunny Mellon with Jennifer Yates

Thursday, April 25 at 10 a.m.

Darien Library welcomes landscaper designer, Jennifer Yates, who will delve into the life of Rachel “Bunny” Mellon and the themes in Mrs. Mellon’s work.

Come learn of the legacy she left at the Oak Spring Foundation as well as the projects which earned her major design awards during her lifetime.

Weekly Plant Clinic with UConn Master Gardeners

Fridays in May and June,
10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Plant identification? Insect damage & disease diagnosis? Plant suggestions? Vegetable growing advice? Tips on container gardening? Invasives management?

Darien Library is thrilled to be partnering with the UCONN Master Gardener Program of Lower Fairfield to bring you the experts who will answer your questions on the spot, or do research and follow up with you.

The Power of Trees!

Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m.

Do you know how much trees contribute to your daily life? Besides capturing carbon, they reduce stress, anxiety and depression.

Darien Library, along with Darien Nature Center, Darien Land Trust and Darien Pollinator Pathway welcome Juliet Cain and Meaghan Hetherington for an important discussion on the “Power of Trees.”

Do you want to change the plantings around your house?  Would you like to incorporate native plants into your garden?

Darien Library, along with Darien Nature Center, welcomes landscape designer and lecturer, Kathy Connolly, who will address your house’s foundation plants, those plants you put around the house, close to the walls, under the windows, and beside the doors for the perfect blend of house and property.
