A new exhibition of abstract art, “Britt Bair Art: Expressions in Color,” will be on view Thursday, June 10 through July 6 at 1027 Post Road in Darien.
Britt Bair is an abstract expressionist artist who works in acrylic, mixed media and oil, mixing vibrant colors to create her own visual language.

Bair’s work has been selected for exhibitions at galleries, museums and other local venues. She is a member of the Silvermine Artist Guild, Rowayton Arts Center and the Carriage Barn Arts Center in New Canaan.
Britt is also the co-founder of the Wilson Avenue Loft Artists (WALA), a group of artists in a gallery space at 225 Wilson Ave. in South Norwalk.
Her work may be found in private collections from California to New York. She is represented by Gallery 104 in New York City, Geary Gallery in Darien, Avondale Arts in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, Louisa Gould Gallery in Martha’s Vineyard, MA and Hazel House in Vero Beach, Florida.
She graduated from Colby Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire, with a liberal arts degree and from the University of California Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts degree in studio art and photography. Her career began as a graphic designer and photography rep in New York City.
“After living in Florida and transitioning from representational to abstract art, I am now confident to be exhibiting in my hometown of Darien,” Bair said.
“It’s full circle for me. This is where I developed my artistic skills — learning from names like Gayle Asher, Constance Kiermaier and Helen Cantrell at the Darien Arts Center.”
