A Darien Library announcement:
Senior Moments, a coffee and conversation program designed specifically for seniors, will meet Thursday, July 9 at 3 p.m. in the Louise Parker Berry Community Room.
Hula Zen makes exercising a tropical breeze. Achieve overall fitness by dancing to Hawaiian songs and melodies and learn the graceful art of traditional Hawaiian dance called hula.
Engage in dance movements that tell a story and express emotion while learning the culture, traditions, language and history of Hawai’i.
Attendees will learn basic hula motions and Hawaiian dance terminology, progressing to learn simple dances to their choice of their favorite Don Ho or Elvis songs.
Support for Senior Moments is provided by the Connecticut State Library (CSL) and the Institute for Museum and Library Sciences (IMLS), an independent federal agency whose mission is to create strong libraries and museums that connect people to information and ideas.
