The Darien League of Women Voters and the Darien Library will host a panel discussion on the Town Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) on Monday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Louise Parker Berry Auditorium at the Darien Library.
The panel discussion and audience participation will be enhanced by an interactive audience response system supported by Meridia software at the Darien Library. The program is free and open to the public.
Panelists will include Jeremy Ginsberg, Director of Planning and Zoning for Darien, Susan Cameron, Chairman of the Darien Planning and Zoning Commission, Steven Olvany, Darien Planning and Zoning Commission member and Glenn Chalder, AICP, President and Project Manager for Planimetrics, the land use consulting firm which is working with Darien to develop a Plan of Conservation and Development.
Planimetrics is a land use consulting firm providing planning, zoning and development services primarily in the public sector. For more than twenty years the firm has helped Connecticut communities prepare new Plans of Conservation and Development or update existing ones so that communities become better places for future generations.
Because the Town Plan is updated only once every 10 years, citizens have a unique opportunity to contribute ideas about their vision for this community. The Town POCD is scheduled to be adopted in June 2016 following many months of discussion and community input.
Please attend the panel discussion on Feb. 22 to learn about the 2016 Town Plan of Conservation and Development and share your thoughts about Darien’s future. For information, contact Clara Sartori League of Women Voters, Program CoChair (sart161@optonline.net).
