The Monuments and Ceremonies Commission will hold our annual Flag Day Observance at the Veterans Memorial Circle at Town Hall at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14.

“All are invited to bring their old, weathered flags. Members of the VFW will accept the old and used flags for proper disposal at a later date, and have a brief flag ceremony, lowering an old flag and raising a new one.

The Monuments & Ceremonies Commission urges all citizens to take note of the program placed in motion this year by State Representative Terrie Wood, and replace their tattered and worn flags.

Representative Wood has established drop points around Town, at the Public Library, Town Hall, and the Darien VFW (open after 4pm daily).”

*In the event of inclement weather, a representative of the VFW will be at Town Hall to receive old flags at the time of the ceremony.
