Music in the Stacks, Darien Library’s signature concert series, continues as we welcome renowned classical guitarist Carlos Pavan at 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 16 in the Louise Parker Berry Community Room. Refreshments will be served.

With striking music and great originality, Argentinian-born Carlos Pavan is part of a new wave of modern classical guitar composers. He was born in Argentina and has been living in Brooklyn since 2000. With a mix of tradition and influences, versatile and original, he blends Tango/folklore rhythms from his native country with New York jazz harmonies and classical technique/forms.

He is a former student of legendary Jorge Morel, Dave Smey and Pablo Ziegler (Piazzolla’s pianist), he has performed internationally in France, Canada, Argentina, Portugal, Ireland and upcoming in Japan.

This concert will feature Pavan’s contemporary original pieces and traditional Argentine composers.
