Vosburgh, Emily Patricia Coyne, age 96, of Fairfield and formerly of Darien, beloved wife of the late Albert E. Vosburgh, passed away peacefully Friday, March 9 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Emily Vosburgh, 96, passed away March 9. Her funeral is scheduled for April 27.

Born Dec. 27, 1921 in New York City, the daughter of the late Martin and Emily Kelly Coyne of Athenry, Galway, Ireland, she was a Fairfield resident since moving from Darien in 1984.

Mrs. Vosburgh graduated from Cathedral High School in Manhattan, where she was class president. She attended W.R. Grace School of Business and Hunter College. She married her husband in 1945 while he was a captain and pilot in the 12th Army Air Force Division during World War II .

A former resident of Darien, she served as a trustee of the Darien United Methodist Church and as a director on the Darien Board of Realtors. In Fairfield she chaired with her husband the Lifelong Learners program at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities and was a member there of the Fairfield Pacers and Fairfield Quilters.

Currently she was a member of Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church and the Fairfield Gaelic-American Club.

Survivors include five children: Mark A. Vosburgh and his wife, Ruth, of Wading River, N.Y.; Barbara V. Omohundro and her husband, Dan Omohundro, MD, of Fairfield; Stephen J. Vosburgh and his wife, Rebecca, of Buck Hill Falls, Pa.; Lorelle V. Foulds and her husband, John, of Sunapee, N.H.; and Megan V. Saliterman and her husband, Victor, of Mendham, N.J.; fourteen grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by sisters Mary and Winifred and brothers Timothy and Martin.

The family would like to thank the West Wing staff at the Carolton Chronic Convalescent Hospital in Fairfield for their excellent and compassionate care.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 27, 2018 at Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church, 1089 Fairfield Woods Road, Fairfield. Entombment at Oak Lawn Cemetery will be private, and calling hours have been omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church. The Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
