Edith Omicioli, formally a resident of Portland for over 60 years, passed away peacefully on Dec. 8, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown, New Hampshire, at the age of 92.
She was born Feb. 28, 1929, in Darien to John Levay and Florence (Stevens) Levay.
Edith worked at Queens Convalescent Homes in Middletown, Stonehaven, and Portland Connecticut and Elmcrest, also in Portland, before retiring. She was a communicate of St. Mary Church, Portland, and a longtime volunteer at the Portland Food Bank.
Edith is predeceased by her husband Charles J. Omicioli, Jr. She is survived by: her daughter, Deborah (James) Fazzino of CA ; her son, Arthur C. Omicioli of Montana; her daughter, Susan (Chris) Adams of New Hampshire; her sister, Dorothy (Robert) Santry of Oregon; and her brother, John Levay of Portland. She had eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29 in the Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St, Portland, Maine. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Portland. Memorial donations may be made to Home Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
