Submission Guidelines

Create an original safety/awareness poster that discourages distracted driving, especially cell phone use while driving, in our Darien community. Use the contest message “Let’s Make Darien A Safer Community. / On The Road = Off The Phone” in your entry. Show your creativity while you emphasize why it is dangerous to everyone when drivers don’t pay attention to what they are doing.

Each entry must be an original hand-drawn or electronically-created submission. Entries must be a minimum of 8.5″ x 11″ sized-paper and a maximum of 11″ x 14″ sized-paper in a horizontal/landscape or vertical/portrait layout. Your artwork should appear on one side only. Laminating is not permitted. There is no limitation on the number of colors used.

Poster designs may not incorporate any copyrighted characters (i.e., comic and/or television characters), photographs, and magazine or newspaper illustrations.

Your entry should incorporate the contest theme “Let’s Make Darien A Safer Community. On The Road = Off The Phone.” Entries must be received by the contest deadline of Monday, April 11th, 2016 at 5 p.m. EST. One original design entry per person.

Entries may be emailed as an attachment to dropitanddrive@outlook.com, dropped off in the Children’s Library at the Darien Library or mailed to:
