David Gurliacci, who founded Darienite.com in June 2015, graduated from Darien High School, Class of 1978.
Some of his earliest memories and sunburn came from constant trips to Weed Beach with his family as a young child. After attending Baker School for Kindergarten and First Grade, his family moved out of town, only to return later when he was in high school. He has the distinction of attending two schools in town, each of which has been torn down.
His first experiences in journalism came while writing for Neirad. Working for various news publications over the years, he always dreamed of being his own boss. Please commiserate with him on having achieved that goal, for when you are your own boss, you always live in interesting times.
