Darien’s Michael Borecki Wins “Jeopardy” Match Tuesday, Back Friday for Semi-Final Round

After winning his quarter-final match on Jeopardy! Tuesday night, Darien High School senior Micheal Borecki will be back Friday for a semi-final round on the TV game show.

Borecki is one of two Darien teens to appear in the latest “Teen Tournament” of the show. The other, Porter Bowman, a junior at St. Luke’s School in New Canaan, appeared on the show last Wednesday. The shows were taped earlier this year.

The two-week Teen Tournament, taped at Daughters of the American Revolution Hall in Washington, D.C. earlier this year, runs through Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Fifteen teenage contestants (ages 14 to 17) from around the country are competing in the event for the top prize of $100,000. “Jeopardy!” is broadcast at 7 p.m. weeknights on WABC-TV, Channel 7.

“Michael enjoys playing basketball with friends and plans to become an economist,” according to the Jeopardy! website. “He’s learned a lot about markets during his summer internships at financial firms.”
