Darien Police Department Welcomes Newest Officer, Katrina Cook

On Friday, Darien Police Department announced the hiring and swearing-in of a new officer, Katrina Cook, who’s been working in the fitness industry for the past 14 years.

Darien’s newest officer, Katrina Cook, was sworn in last week by Police Commission member Kevin Cunningham.

Officer Cook will be going through firearms and administrative training, and soon beginning a “comprehensive and rigorous training program at the newly established Stamford Police Academy,” according to the department’s announcement on Facebook.

Cook was born in Brooklyn, New York and spent her early years in Orange County, New York. A dedicated athlete, she earned a full athletic scholarship to play soccer at Southern Connecticut State University, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in exercise science and human performance in 2010.

She worked for Equinox fitness clubs for nine years in various management roles and as a personal trainer.
