Cinnamon Girl, a Neil Young tribute band, will play for free, outdoors at Grove Street Plaza from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3 in the latest of the Darien Summer Nights concerts. The band was formed by singer-songwriter Leslie Costa in 2015. Costa fell in love with guitar after her cousin, Chris, let her try his 1969 Fender Stratocaster. She formed her own band in 1990 called Leslie Costa and the Usual Suspects.
The Rad Trads, a New York City band that blends indie rock, Americana, and soul, perform from 8 to 9:30 p.m., Friday at the Levitt Pavilion in Westport. Sister Sun, an original music family folk band, will play outdoors at Bartlett Arboretum in North Stamford from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday. Consisting of Dave, Dianne, Jenna Colavito, Kate Gunn, and Joe Colavito, they play shows on a monthly basis and are sometimes seen in the Caribbean. Bartlett Arboretum Summer Concert Series performances on the Great Lawn or in the Silver Educational Center if there’s rain. Joe McCarthy’s Latin Grammy Award winning Afro Bop Alliance band performs from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday at the Levitt Pavillion in Westport. The outdoor concert is free. The ABA band is a 17-piece Afro-Cuban jazz ensemble based in NYC and Washington, DC. ABA received Latin Jazz Album of the Year at the 9th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2008 for the recording “Afro Bop Alliance, featuring Dave Samuels,” which was released on the Heads-Up label. This recording was also nominated for a Grammy in the same category that same year.
The duo “A Night Out,” featuring Art Kadish and Vito Pepe, will performing this Saturday evening, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Hibachi Sushi Ya restaurant, 111 Old Kings Hwy. North.
Fresh from his North American tour with Boz Scaggs, Jeff LeBlanc performs on the Levitt Pavilion’s stage from 8 to 9:30 p.m., Thursday night, July 26. LeBlanc earned a history degree and imagined his destiny would likely be as a middle-school teacher. However, LeBlanc’s discovery of songwriting led him down a different path. ____________

Dennis DeYoung, a founding member of Styx, will perform in a concert starting at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday in downtown Stamford, in the latest Wednesday Nite Live concert. The concert has been moved indoors to the Palace Theatre at 61 Atlantic St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and no outside food or drinks will be permitted. Also on the stage Wednesday will be Tom “The Suit” Forst. DeYoung wrote and recorded some of the greatest rock classics ever; including “Lady,” “Come Sail Away,” “Best of Times,” and “Mr. Roboto.”
His signing talents have made his voice one of the most recognizable in the world.

The band has been playing for many different audiences for over 25 years, including for two sitting Presidents of the United States and the world famous Ernest Tubb’s Midnight Jamboree in Nashville, following the Grand Ole Opry. With six recorded albums under their belt, Gunsmoke was inducted into the Connecticut Country Music Hall of Fame, and was elected band of the year six years in a row by the New York Metro Country Music Association.
The band was founded on family values as it was created by Nick DeMaio Jr. and his younger brother Jeff. With great fondness, we remember the many years they were joined by their father, Nick Sr. The band continues to welcome the younger family members into the band with Christina Mae and Nick DeMaio III joining the tradition.

Goza will perform music and dance rhythms from Latin America, Brazil and Spain starting at 8 p.m., Friday night, July 20 at the Levitt Pavilion in Westport. The outdoor concert is free. Goza (Spanish for “Joy”) performs engaging and sultry Latin music in an ensemble comprised of Connecticut musicians on guitar, violin, horns, Latin percussion and beautiful, romantic vocals.
The band plays samba, salsa, bachata, rumba, cha-cha, cumbia, flamenco, tango, and bolero. Their covers include many Latin standards plus music of Jobim, Tito Puente, Gipsy Kings, Buena Vista, Selena, Beatles, Santana, Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Guns & Roses and many originals.
