A beautiful cake makes any holiday or special occasion more festive! Here’s your chance to learn from the pros, in this buttercream cake class led by Palmer’s Bakery expert cake decorators.

The class will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Thursday, March 7 at the Darien Community Association.

Each student will receive an eight inch cake, turntable and set of spatulas (yours to keep), and choose from a variety of cake flavors and fillings.

The Darien Community Association Offers a Winter Cake Decorating Class with Palmer’s Bakery.

Instruction will include: how to cut, fill and crumb coat a cake; icing a cake in buttercream, basic piping skills; and decorating techniques such as sugar roses and gum paste bows.

Whether you are a beginner in the kitchen or an old hand, you’ll learn valuable tricks of the trade as you decorate a cake from start to finish, and have a great time doing it!

This event is $140 per person, or $120 for DCA members. Prepayment is required by Monday, March 4, and can be made online, or by contacting the DCA at 203-655-9050, extension 10. The DCA is at 274 Middlesex Road.
