Bridget Lyons McGuire, 41, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Framingham, Mass. She fought a courageous battle against cancer with grace, dignity, and above all, hope.
Bridget, born Feb. 24, 1975, was raised in Darien and stayed in touch with many Darien High School friends. In her adolescence, she was known for her impressive talents as an all-state gymnast and Irish step dancer, winning several New England Oireachtas titles and competing at the World Championship level.
Bridget graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in elementary and special education, where she forged a life-long bond with her college roommates. She later received a Master of Arts degree in education from Sacred Heart University.
Most recently, Bridget was employed in the human resources department of International Data Group, and our family would like to extend our thanks for their support.

____________
One of Bridget’s most captivating qualities was her immense kindness toward others. She sincerely cared for everyone who had the good fortune of being a part of her life. Bridget was always so thoughtful and made sure you knew you were loved. She had a passion for country music and would rarely pass on an opportunity to attend a live concert with family or friends.
“In the end, it is not the years in your life, but the life in your years” — although we are so heartbroken over the loss of our dear Bridget, her inspiring presence will live on through treasured memories. We now have the most beautiful angel watching over us.
Bridget was the loving wife of Conor McGuire, originally of Longford, Ireland.
Bridget is survived by her devoted parents, James and Kathleen Lyons of Darien; her sisters: Mary (and husband Sean Sorohan) of Pearl River, N.Y.; Celia (and husband Michael Beluk) of Stamford; brothers: Jim Lyons of Bridgeport and John Lyons of Darien. Bridget adored her nieces and nephews — Lauren, Michael and Matthew Beluk, Bridget and Sean Sorohan, and Conor and Rachel McNamara.
Bridget was blessed with a large family and leaves behind many aunts and uncles in the U.S. and Ireland and, while predeceased by two cousins, she had 47 first cousins, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company. Bridget also had a close relationship with her in-laws, James and Carmel McGuire, Angela and Padraig McNamara and Kevin McGuire.
