Brian J. Wood, a resident of Rowayton for over 30 years and a former longtime resident of Darien, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2016 in Norwalk. He was 66.

Born on May 7, 1950 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Arthur Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (O’Connor) Wood.

Brian attended Darien public schools. He worked as a sexton at Noroton Presbyterian Church for 13 years. He also worked at Darien Auto Body for over 20 years which lead to a lifetime love of cars.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Abbot Wood and a brother, Douglas J. Wood of Bethesda, Md. He is also survived by three nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence C. Wood.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16 at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A Graveside Service will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 17.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rowayton Fire Department, 136 Rowayton Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06853.
