Christopher Johnson, manager of Patriot Bank’s Darien location, has been promoted to vice president for branch banking.

In his expanded role, Mr. Johnson oversees the strategic planning, execution and overall customer experience at all of the bank’s 10 branches in Fairfield, New Haven and Westchester counties. Patriot Bank was founded in 1994.

Johnson is a 30-year community banking veteran. He led the launch of Patriot’s rebrand and new design at its Darien branch at 233 Post Road. He currently serves on the bank’s Elder Abuse Prevention Committee, which concentrates on the prevention of financial fraud targeted at seniors.

“As a local resident, I recognize many of the faces that enter Patriot Bank branches as my neighbors, fellow volunteers at local non-profits, and the families of Little League teams I have coached. I am so pleased to lead efforts across all our branch networks that will ensure my colleagues share similar relationships with our customers,” Johnson said.

Johnson is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a degree in finance. He is a member of the Darien and Stamford Chambers of Commerce, serving on the Stamford Chamber Ambassador’s Committee since 2011, and the Monroe Knights of Columbus. He also volunteers as a Little League baseball and soccer coach in Monroe, where he lives with his wife and two children.

“In his new senior leadership role, Chris will help further improve the branch banking experience for our customers,” said Fred Staudmyer, Patriot Bank executive vice president & chief administrative officer. “Since joining Patriot, he has spearheaded the opening of our state-of-the-art Darien location and coached our community banking teams, and is now additionally implementing innovation across all Patriot’s branches.”
