Former Blue Wave softball star Erika Osherow made her collegiate softball debut with the University of Virginia yesterday, and from the looks of things the former All-State pitcher has picked up exactly where she left off since graduating last spring.
Osherow picked up both wins in a double-header as the Lady Cavs defeated Utah State 9-0 in Game 1, then went on to beat Boise State 12-4 in Game 2.
Osherow fired a complete-game shutout against Utah State holding the Aggies to just three hits over five scoreless innings, with six strikeouts and one walk. Osherow also helped her own cause by going 1-2 at the plate with a double and two RBI.
In the second game, Osherow picked up the win against the Broncos, pitching 3.1 innings in relief action, allowing one run on three hits with two walks and six K’s. She again went 1-2 at the plate with 2 RBI to cap off an impressive opening day to the season and her NCAA career.
