Town Seal Patrol Car

The town seal is part of Darien Police Department's shield-like logo (coat of arms?). Here's a widely seen version from the side of a typical patrol car. Note the central gable (the pointy part in the middle) is not quite missing from the building, but it's got the same color as the roof.

When a woman went to the counter at Panera Bread at about noon on Thursday, she left her purse under her jacket by a table in the back corner of the restaurant. It was the last she saw of that purse.

The table was out of the view of video surveillance cameras in the restaurant, Darien police said.

The woman soon met her sister, who moved her belongings to another table. Later, the woman — who is 30 and lives in Bridgeport — realized the purse was missing. By 1:22 p.m., she went to Darien Police Headquarters to file a report.

The navy blue Michael Kors purse and a red wallet inside it are together valued at a total of $100. In the wallet was about $125 in cash, the woman’s driver’s license and a Social Security Card. In the purse there was also a set of Samsung head phones, valued at about $40.
