Anyone who wants to tell the Darien public works officials about a non-emergency problem — like potholes or damaged trees — can use an app called “SeeClickFix” or go to this web page on the town government website.

The town website also can be used to report cases of blight to the town Blight Review Board, according to an announcement in the latest Town of Darien Newsletter.

“Residents can submit the issue, communicate directly with the appropriate department, and track the process right through the app or a SeeClickFix account,” the announcement said. “This digital system saves phone calls and emails, and enables the Town to respond to issues quickly and efficiently.”

Using the Town Website to Report a Problem

To use SeeClickFix through the town website, click on the How Do I section on the main page of the website and click on “Report a Problem” (one of the options listed under the “Submit” category) then follow these steps:

  1. On the Citizen Service Request Form, scroll down to NEW REQUEST
  2. Type in the address
  3. Scroll down to CONFIRM LOCATION
  4. Select a request category
  5. Add a photo if you have one
  6. Write a description
  7. Select Confirm Details
  8. Choose how you would like information sent: either as yourself, hide your identity, or submit as a guest.

Reporting a Problem with the SeeClickFix App

As an alternative, download the SeeClickFix app. Once the app is downloaded, sign up for an account (it will show up as CivicPlus, not SeeClickFix). Register using the Town of Darien or your home address. To submit a request, follow the steps below:

  1. Select NEW REQUEST and enter the address in the search bar or, if you don’t know the actual address, you can move through the map and find it.
  2. Click NEXT on the top right of the screen
  3. Type in the information
  4. Click if you want information seen publicly
  5. Click SUBMIT on the top right of the screen

Prior to submitting a new request, clicking the REQUESTS button shows active reports to help avoid duplicating a report.
