The Darien Arts Center proudly announces the winners in its 2nd annual Smartphone Photo Contest, Pic Darien. The contest garnered over 300 entries in five categories, with submissions from adults, students and children.

Winners are:
- Nature — first prize to Schafer Repsher, Honorable Mention to Remi Repsher;
- People/Pets — first prize to Olivia Leimgruber, Honorable Mention to Hans Baurmeister;
- Travel — first prize to Brynn Forlizzi.
Student Category
Prizes are:
- Food — first prize to Mary Duffy, Honorable Mention to Macy Millones;
- Humor — first prize to Ellie Mueller, Honorable Mention to Lorenzo Zullo;
- Nature — first prize to Caroline Krantz, Honorable Mention to Trevor Cooper;
- People/Pets — first prize to Maddy Roberts, Honorable Mention to Ellie Mueller;
- Travel — first prize to Grace Gardella, Honorable Mention to Sammie Wagner.
Adult Category
The prizes are:
- Food — first prize to Janine Vairo, Honorable Mention to Philip Leimgruber;
- Humor — first prize to Carin Zakes, Honorable Mention to Michael Tangney;
- Nature — first prize to Heather Harriton, Honorable Mention to Kathy Rawdon;
- People/Pets — first prize to Jared Heuer, Honorable Mention to Brian Hekker;
- Travel — first place to Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, Honorable Mention to Janine Vairo.
First place and honorable mention cash prizes in all categories will be given out at an Award and Reveal Reception from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, March 17 in the DAC Weatherstone Studio.
Accomplished graphic designer Miggs Burroughs judged the contest, a fundraiser, which was sponsored by lead sponsors David and Rebecca Ashcraft, gold sponsors Pam Heckel and Jessie Gilbert and silver sponsor Sarah Ritchey.
All photo entries will be showcased in a slideshow on the DAC Weatherstone Studio’s 184-inch HD movie screen at the Award and Reveal Reception, which is free and open to the public.
