Metro-North says there may be slowdowns Monday morning as train service gets back to its regular schedule after the storm which the National Weather Service says dumped 16 inches on Darien.
Weather Forecast for Darien
Update at 7:24 a.m., Monday: Commuters headed eastbound Monday should be careful with the sun rising in a clear sky. By Tuesday afternoon, temperatures will be enough to start melting snow, but there’s a 20 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m., which would make for a messy commute. There’s a somewhat bigger chance for more rain after sunset Tuesday.

Train Service Back, With Exceptions
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority issued a statement Sunday about Monday service. Here are excerpts that apply to New Haven Line service:

“The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will operate almost all mass transit services in time for the Monday morning rush hour, after much of the MTA network was suspended during this weekend’s blizzard. […]
“Customers should check www.mta.info to check the status of all MTA services before beginning their journeys, as some details may change as restoration efforts continue. […]
“Metro-North will run its normal weekday schedule Monday morning. There may be canceled and combined trains throughout the system as Metro-North continues to clear tracks, switches and yards of snow and ice from this weekend’s storm. Customers should continue to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys as snow removal work continues. […]
“Metro-North tickets will be cross-honored. This service change will be in effect through tomorrow due to third rail power issues as a result of the significant snow accumulations.”
