As educators prepare to enrich their curriculum and plan meaningful field trips throughout the school year, The Maritime Aquarium invites them to its annual Teacher’s Day celebration on Saturday Nov. 15.

In appreciation of their commitment to inspiring future generations, all teachers, along with one guest, will receive complimentary admission to the aquarium.

The event offers a unique opportunity for teachers to explore The Maritime Aquarium’s exhibits and discover educational programs tailored for students from early elementary through high school.

The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is celebrating educators the week of May 4 as part of “Teacher Appreciation Week” via daily raffles, social media shout outs and a specially-themed webinar.

Attendees are invited to Oyster Hall for coffee, tea or hot chocolate between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to engage with Aquarium educators and fellow teachers. This informal gathering will highlight how the Aquarium can serve as a dynamic extension of the classroom.

“Teachers are the cornerstone of lifelong learning,” said Tom Naiman, vice president of education at the aquarium. “We’re thrilled to welcome them to the aquarium and showcase how our exhibits and programs can enhance classroom learning in engaging, hands-on ways.”
