A 53-year-old Darien man was arrested on a warrant charging him with violating a restaining order after a police officer stopped the man’s car after it made a turn without using a turn signal, police said. Darien police gave this account of the matter, including accusations not proven in court:

At about 4:16 p.m., Monday, Aug. 1, the officer saw a man drive out of a parking lot at 71 Post Road, and the officer followed his vehicle. After the man turned north onto Sedgwick Avenue, failing to use his turn signal, the officer stopped the car on West Avenue, near Leroy Avenue. The driver had an active arrest warrant from Darien police, so he was taken into custody.
